Pan Seared Scallops

Serving size: 8 oz


A simple way to enjoy the tender flavor of scallops. Serve with a salad or vegetable for a healthy meal.


Ingredients:


  • Scallops 2 pounds
  • Butter 4 teaspoons
  • Olive Oil 4 teaspoons
  • Salt ½ teaspoon
  • Fresh Ground Pepper ½ teaspoon


Cooking Instructions:

Time: 3 minutes cooking, 5 minutes prep


  1. Add the butter ad oil to a 12 to 14 inch saute pan on high heat.
  2. Salt and pepper the scallops.
  3. Once the butter and oil begins to smoke slightly, add the scallops to the pan, and make sure they are not touching if possible.
  4. Sear the scallops for 1 ½ minutes on first side, then flip over and sear for 1 ½ minutes. Remove from pan. The scallops should get a golden crust on each side maybe ¼ inch thick, and stil be translucent in the center.
